If you’ve been wondering what the “western” classes are all about… WONDER NO MORE.
A chance to learn straight from a judge exactly what each class should look like… as well as see what the stages of learning look like at all levels and how it may apply to your own horse.
Ranch Riding
Ranch Riding showcases a horse's ability to perform the movements required of a practical, working ranch horse. The class rewards a willing, forward-moving horse that travels with natural cadence, responds softly to the rider, and completes each maneuver with smoothness, correctness, and efficiency.
English Equitation
English Equitation (Hunt Seat Equitation) evaluates the rider's position, effectiveness, and ability to communicate clearly with the horse. The horse should appear balanced, responsive, and obedient, allowing the rider to demonstrate correct fundamentals and confident, polished horsemanship.
Western Horsemanship
Western Horsemanship evaluates the rider's position, control, and ability to communicate effectively with the horse. The class emphasizes correct body position, smooth and precise execution of the pattern, and a horse that appears responsive, willing, and guided with subtle cues.
English Versatility
English Versatility highlights the all-around English horse by combining elements of flat work and practical obstacles into one class. Horses are judged on their willingness, athleticism, responsiveness, and ability to smoothly transition between maneuvers while maintaining correct English form.
Each class session will begin with Nancie on mic during a live demo explaining the class fundamentals and what a judge is looking for to make a horse a winner.
This will be followed by a masterclass session featuring riders on various breeds of horses and of various skill levels, all receiving live feedback from Nancie as well as before and after fixes to improve each team.
